چکیده :
مسئله جاودانگی از بنیادیترین پرسشهای فلسفه و الهیات است؛ پرسشی درباره ماندگاری انسان و نسبت او با حقیقت.
جوزایا رویس، فیلسوف ایدئالیست آمریکایی، با رویکردی ارادهگرایانه میکوشد مفهوم جاودانگی را از تلقیهای سنتی فراتر ببرد و آن را نه استمرار صرف حیات فردی، بلکه ضرورتی درونی برخاسته از ذات اراده انسان تبیین کند.
در منظومه او، جاودانگی با وفاداری، اراده مطلق و «جامعه اخلاقی» گره میخورد؛ جایی که فرد در نسبت با کلیت هستی معنا مییابد.
این نوشتار با رویکرد تحلیلی–انتقادی نخست مبانی نظری جاودانگی در اندیشه رویس را بررسی و سپس نقدهای وارد بر آن را تحلیل میکند.
مهمترین چالشها شامل نسبت مبهم اراده فردی و اراده جهانی، مسئله هویت شخصی پس از مرگ و پرسش عدالت الهی در این تفسیر است.
منتقدان میپرسند اگر ارادههای فردی در حقیقت کلی مستحیل شوند، تمایز نیککرداران و بدکاران چگونه حفظ میشود؟ در برابر، مدافعان با طرح «درجات جاودانگی» استدلال میکنند که میزان پیوند هر فرد با حقیقت کلی مرتبه او را تعیین میکند.
